You don't need to drive anywhere to see stars here — step out of the room and look up. But for the deepest sky, head a few miles out of town: Yaqui Pass, the road to Font's Point, or anywhere east on S-22 puts you outside what little light spills from town.
The motel courtyard lighting is configured to preserve dark-sky compliance. Once we close it down for the night, the courtyard goes dim by design.
