Privacy
We're a small independent motel, not an advertising business. We collect what we need to hold your room and answer your questions, and nothing else.
What we collect
- When you book: your name, email, phone, mailing address if you give it, your dates, whether you're bringing a pet, and anything you write in the notes. We keep a record of your past stays so we know your usual room when you come back.
- When you write to us: your name, email, and your message. We keep it so it doesn't get lost before someone replies.
- When you sign up for the newsletter or download a guide: your email address.
- Card payments: handled entirely by Square. Your card number goes to them, never to us. We only ever see whether the payment succeeded and the last few digits.
- Spam protection: when you submit a form we store a one-way scrambled version of your network address (not the address itself) for 24 hours, so one bot can't flood the form.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your information. Ever.
- We don't run advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or social pixels on this site, and we don't set cookies to follow you around. The only cookie we use keeps a staff member signed in to the office system.
- We don't record which pages you looked at or how long you spent on them, and we never attach browsing behaviour to your name.
Who else touches it
Only the services that make the site work: Square (card payments), Resend (sending and receiving our email), Neon (the database), Vercel (hosting), and Cloudflare (the spam check on our forms). If you booked through Airbnb, Vrbo, or Booking.com, that company has its own privacy policy covering what it collected before passing your reservation to us.
Marketing email
Newsletters and guest emails carry an unsubscribe link that works immediately and permanently. You can also just ask us and we'll take you off the list. Reservation emails (confirmations, receipts, cancellations) aren't marketing, so those keep coming as long as you have a booking with us.
How long we keep it
Reservation records stay as long as we need them for our books and tax filings. Contact messages and newsletter signups stay until you ask us to remove them, or until they're clearly no longer useful.
Asking us to change or delete it
Write, call, or send a letter and tell us what you'd like: a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. If you're a California resident you have these rights under the CCPA, and we won't treat you differently for using them. We'll get back to you within 45 days, usually much sooner. We may need to keep reservation and payment records where the law requires it.
Children
The site isn't aimed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Families are of course welcome to stay; a parent books the room.
If we change this page we’ll update it here. See also our booking & cancellation policies and our accessibility page.
