Galleta Meadows sculptures

Ricardo Breceda's life-sized metal animals — mammoths, raptors, a 350-foot serpent — scattered across the open desert.

More than 130 sculptures are spread across several miles of open desert north and east of town. They're free to visit, free to walk among, free to photograph. Some are along Borrego Springs Road, some are off Henderson Canyon Road, some are tucked in arroyos you'd never find without a map.

Pick up the free sculpture map at the state park visitor center or the motel's front desk. Plan an hour minimum; we promise you'll spend two.
