Drive twenty minutes east to a trailhead that's just a turnout off Buttes Pass Road. The walk descends into a slot that narrows to maybe three feet wide — sandstone walls fifty feet high on either side. It's quick, photogenic, and the sort of thing that makes the desert feel like another planet.
Not for anyone with mobility issues; there's a scramble at one point. Don't go in monsoon season; flash floods funnel through here.
